Kiwanis Club Scholarship
Nicole Denning and Mack Bean have been awarded the Kiwanis Club Scolarship this year. Students were selected based on Community Service, Academic Achievement, and Leadership Ability Congratulations Warriors!
Track and Field 05/01/12
The Warriors faced off against McDowell in their 6th meet of the 2012 season. East walked away with 4 FIRST PLACE PERFORMANCES.
LaVonte Ford won the boys javelin, Deontre Plott and Brinna Hughes won the boys and girls shot put, and freshman Tiara Johnson won the girls 400m dash.
Newcomer Avery Kirksey ran a district qualifying time of 53.54s in the 400m dash. He and fellow junior Willie Horne went 2-3 in the boys 400m dash overall.
The girls 4x100m relay team took 2nd place with their fastest time of the season, finishing in 55.94s. The warrior boys took 3rd place in the 400m relay as well.
Brinna Hughes turned in a 2nd place performance in the girls javelin, and Tiajah Worthy took 3rd in the discus. Tavaray Carr gave a 2nd place performance in the 300m intermediate hurdles, while Jarel Nelson and Avery Kirksey earned 3rd places in the 200m dash and long jump events correspondingly. Congratulations Warriors!
Law Day 5K
East High School is very proud of Outstanding Warrior Malik Allen who woke up very early on Saturday 4/28/12 and ran the Law Day 5K. Malik came in 4th in the Male 13-15 age group with an outstanding time of 27:35.6!! Kudos to Malik!!
