The rules:

You must be a high school senior to enter.
You must include your name, address, and phone number as well as your school’s.
Essays must be 500 words or less, typed, and single spaced.
If emailing your entry, the essays must be submitted as an attachment.
Employees and relatives of those employed by WQLN are not eligible.
Essays must be received by 5pm on April 23rd 2009.
WQLN reserves the right to disqualify entries not meeting the above criteria 
Winners may be notified by May 5th 2009.

Housing Authority of the City of Erie’s Louis J. Tullio Memorial Scholarship.

Five (5) $1000 Scholarships will be awarded to traditional college bound students who are public housing or Section 8 residents for the 2009-2010 School year.  The scholarships are paid directly to the student and not the school so it should not affect other financial aid.  The scholarship application must be received by the Housing authority office 606 Holland Street, Erie, PA. 16501-1285 by 430 p.m. on Friday May 29, 2009.

Edinboro Journalism Workshop

Edinboro is hosing a day-long seminar on journalism and media careers.  The event includes breakfast, lunch, and materials.  It is free and opened to all high school sophomores, juniors and seniors.

Student workshops include:

Photojournalism
Sports Journalism
Political reporting
Broadcast Voice Training

Miss Anthony is trying to get a bus for students.  If you are interested in attending please stop by her office and sign up.

 

Charles W. Berry Scholarship

A $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a student residing within the West Bayfront Neighbor Watch geographical area Cascade-West 10th, Sassafras- Bayfront.
