Game Review: Assassins Creed 2

With the release date of 11/17/09, Assassins Creed 2 is a fresh new sequel to the first Assassins Creed which was a disappointment to most gamers.  The main character in the new game is a man by the name of “Desmond Miles.”  In the game, Desmond is transported back in time with the aide of a machine called an “Animus,” which triggers memories of his ancestors. Instead of “Altair” from the first game, you play as a different ancestor by the name of “Ezio”. The setting is in France and Leonardo DiVinci plays a large role in the storyline. There are larger environments and more movement abilities, you even play as Desmond. In addition to all the new ancestors, there are other items such as: new weapons, armors and change the color of the assassin suit. Another nice addition is the Villa, which is your main home, where you can upgrade the town to increase the worth. All this is done with currency, which was not in the first one.  The new accessories are very helpful. Some of the accessories include: smoke bombs, poison stealth blades, double stealth blades, and even a pistol attachment to the stealth blades.   The graphics on the in-game play are better than the cut scene graphics. The lag time isn’t bad at all. For example, you hit the attack button you attack right away.  There are plenty of side-missions to keep you busy and the nice thing is you don’t have to do certain side missions to be able to continue the storyline; you can just do the storyline with no interruptions.  You don’t have to go from point A to point B; you can branch off and do other things. With the richer storyline and brand new attachments, I would recommend this game to players who enjoy adventure games and free roaming the large areas and scaling large buildings.
